What to Do If a Press-On Nail Hurts or Feels Too Tight

A press-on should not need to squeeze the natural nail to stay in place. Pinching can mean the piece is too narrow or the curvature is mismatched.

Do not add more adhesive to force the fit

A stronger bond does not make an uncomfortable press-on the correct size.

Remove it according to the adhesive directions

Avoid ripping or twisting the nail off. Use the removal method designed for the product.

Inspect the natural nail and surrounding skin

If there is persistent pain, injury, swelling, significant redness or another concerning change, stop using the product and seek appropriate medical advice.

Choose a different size or shape next time

Recheck width and curvature before applying another press-on to that finger.
