Find Your Fit

Give fit its own moment

Find the right information before you choose.

A design can catch your eye in a second. Fit deserves a separate check. The shape of the tip, the length of the nail, and the width of each piece describe different things. Start with the information for the exact set and option you are considering.

Size, shape, and length: what each tells you

Four details to compare separately
DetailWhat to look forWhat it does not confirm
Width and sizingThe product’s size chart, units, measurement method, and available sizes.A size number alone does not establish the same fit across different products.
LengthActual dimensions where supplied, plus how much length you want beyond your fingertips.A label such as “short” does not tell you the width of each piece.
ShapeThe outline of the tip and sides: rounded, square, tapered, or pointed.A shape name does not specify dimensions or the pack’s size range.
ProfileSide-view photographs and any information about the nail’s curve or profile.A top-down image cannot answer every question about fit.

A five-minute shortlist check

  1. Write down the exact product and option. Similar-looking designs may be different shapes, lengths, or pack types. Keep the option name with your notes.
  2. Locate the size chart. Use its stated units and measurement method. If the method or a needed dimension is missing, ask for that detail before relying on an estimate.
  3. Check the range of sizes. The total number of nails in a pack is a different detail from the number of sizes supplied.
  4. Compare length with your plans. Think about typing, phone use, fastening jewelry, and other tasks you do regularly. Choose the amount of length you want, then check the product information.
  5. Read the contents and directions. Confirm the attachment method, any included adhesive or tools, and the product’s application and removal instructions.

Your ten-finger fit notes

Copy this table into a note, or print the page and fill it in when following your set’s fitting directions. Record each hand separately. Keep the exact product name beside the numbers so the note remains useful when you return to it.

This is a record-keeping worksheet, not a universal size chart. Recheck the chart and fitting directions when you switch to a different set.

Plan your fitting before application

Read the directions supplied with the nails and compatible adhesive before starting. Follow the product’s fitting steps, check each finger individually, and arrange your chosen pieces as instructed. Leave adhesive unopened until you understand the process.

If you are between sizes, use the instructions for that particular product. Do not automatically carry over a sizing or filing technique from another set. Ask for clarification when the chart and directions leave a question unanswered.

Your final check

  • I have the exact product and option name.
  • I understand the size chart and its measurement method.
  • I have checked length as well as width.
  • I know whether the pack contains mixed sizes or a selected size combination.
  • I have checked what is included and which adhesive instructions apply.
  • I have a place to keep my fitting notes for both hands.
