Adhesive tabs are designed as a glue-free attachment system, but removal still should not mean ripping a press-on from the natural nail. Work slowly, follow the tab instructions and stop if the nail is still firmly attached.
Start at a loose edge
If the product instructions allow it, begin where the tab has already started to release. Do not wedge a sharp tool under a firmly attached nail simply to create leverage.
Follow the tab manufacturer’s removal directions
Some tabs release more easily with warmth, oil or another method specified by the manufacturer. Use the instructions for the exact product rather than borrowing a routine from a different adhesive system.
Do not confuse tabs with nail glue
Tabs are sticker-style adhesive pieces. Traditional nail glue is a liquid adhesive. The cleanup process can be very different.

Work one nail at a time
Some tabs may release faster than others. If one nail is ready and another is not, treat them separately rather than forcing the whole set off at once.
Remove tab residue gently
After the press-on comes off, remaining tab material may roll or peel away. Do not aggressively scrape the natural nail or the underside of a reusable press-on.
Can the press-on be reused?
Possibly. Tabs can be useful for reuse because they may leave less stubborn residue than some liquid adhesives. Inspect the press-on for cracks, warping and cleanliness before storing it.

What if the tab will not release?
Stop rather than increasing force. Recheck the product directions and give the release method more time. Pain or strong resistance is a reason to slow down.
